5I think that these teams take this trade, a fair proposal for both.
Cubs have a lot of pitching coming up the system and PCA is gonna be a real difference maker with his glove alone. Doesn't make much sense for the Cubs at all.
Would the Cubs really trade their number one prospect for the Astros number one prospect? Besides the Cubs like to waste their money on free agency anyways so they could get a starting pitcher that way.
Looks like the Cubs are targeting Senga from Japan and/or an ace FA Verlander/DeGrom type that only costs money (tons of room in the salary cap). After fleecing PCA from the Mets, there is no way they flip him for a pitcher not named Otani.
The Cubs are fairly high on PCA and might not be looking to deal him.
