3Contreras and Wright for a pitcher who never had an era under 4.00. Nope. Musgrove overvalued here.
I agree that it's hard to see Musgrove as a top starter, so on perception alone the valuation is a challenge. However, our model is forward-looking, and informed by projection systems that all see him hitting his prime over the next three years, while earning relatively little in salary. That creates the large surplus.
A lot of people don't know about Trey Harris but he is a highly underrated prospect that went from low A to double A in a year and could end up being a starting outfielder in a year or two on a team other than the Braves.
