Cleveland has Jose Ramirez at 3B and 10 outfielders on their 40 man roster. Where does Riley fit? Also, will Riley continue to struggle with the bat? Who then plays shortstop for the Indians? Yu Chang? I also don't see them interested in Dansby Swanson as he only has one more year of control than Lindor does. Cleveland is a contender for 2020 if there is a season. This trade is a rebuilding trade which would take them out of contention for 2020 and likely 2021 which makes little sense for them when they control their outstanding starting pitching for those years. A rebuilding trade also does not match the stated goal of Cleveland's front office. Atlanta would make a good trading partner with the Indians if Cleveland was in rebuilding mode. Again, Cleveland's front office stated plan is to not enter a rebuild. Also, based on Cleveland's starting pitching strength, I think that they would want Pache or Waters more than Anderson if they were to trade Lindor.
