This trade scenario could realistically happen. I would prefer that the Red Sox trade more expendable veterans that protects such JD Martinez, Jackie Bradley, Hembree, Pillar, Rusney Castillo, Workman, Barnes, Perez, and Moreland. Most of these guys would be rentals with limited value. However, given a desperate trade deadline, the Red Sox could get two 50 rated pitching prospects if they bundle them successfully. A shorten season will weaken their return. A few decent prospects could become available such as Chatham, Chavis, and even Tristan Castas for good pitching prospects. How aggressively the Red Sox be in 2021 given with Pedroia and Price dead money? I think that 2022 is a more realistic approach for aggressive moves. Dave Dombrowski put them in a tough position.
