3Most realistic Chapman/Braves deal I've seen - A's might want Minter instead of Touki (or Wilson instead of Wright) but this is what the overall deal would look like.
It's probably something the A's would be interested in, too, if they made the decision that trading Chapman was possible. They get a 3B replacement, an almost-ready stud OF prospect, and needed pitching depth.
Down vote. Austin Riley isn't a good defensive 3B and Oakland has always prioritized above-average defense at the infield corners. The A's could pencil in Sheldon Neuse at 3B and focus on getting the best possible talent in return. Removing Riley from the equation creates a significant gap and I'm not sure how best to fill it. I don't see Atlanta taking on dead money in Davis or Piscotty, not when they still have Inciarte on the books. Contreras is a popular name in these scenarios but Sean Murphy has established himself as a legit starting Catcher; you'd need to craft a 3 Team deal for Contreras to work. Is Atlanta in a position to replace Riley with Muller and Wilson, sending 3 arms to the A's?
