This is a really good trade for both teams. The Rockies, who should enter a rebuild, are getting some key pieces for the future in James Beard, a speedy outfielder, and two right handed arms. The White Sox have done a nice job acquiring the pieces they need, but they still do need a 5th starter, and someone like Gray would be a perfect fit. Gray reminds me of someone like Dylan Bundy, and I do believe he can turn things around and produce a season like 2017. However, there is some risk because he was on the injured list last year and didn't pitch well when he wasn't. If he can keep his hits/9 down, he will be a good pitcher with some decent stuff. It is a low risk, high reward player, and he will only make $6 million next year.
