2I like the idea of this trade for the Giants because Fulmer can help the Giants out of the bullpen in 2021. In 2022, they could (potentially) try and do one of their patented veteran SP rebirths and see if they can get him going as a starter again. They seem to like taking flyers on one year deals for starters that they think have a lot left in the tank but are down (Gausman, Wood, Descalfini, etc).
This is an excellent trade idea. I think the Tigers could get a little bit more for Fulmer, maybe another 2M in value somewhere, but it certainly takes into consideration everyone's needs.
