10Thanks for posting this real one, Michael. Looks fair to me.
I think this move is as much about the Rays faith in Archer returning to the team as anything else. Arch pitched his second rehab game last night. Did ok. Patino was also called up yesterday and did ok. His results certainly weren’t worse than Hill’s recent performances. Hill has averaged North of 5.0 FIP / xFIP since the end of May. Anyway, I’m a little surprised by the trade but I guess it’s better than a DFA. Wacha could / should be next. I would love to see a Morton, Cobb or Gibson trade now.
me too but why would rays do this it makes no sense to me but great move by my mets
They saved some money in the contract swaps, that might have been a factor. They also cleared a roster spot, which is probably the most important reason.
Oh ok makes some more sense now but do you think the mets can get Berrios
Unlikely. They'd have go give up Mauricio + at least one other good prospect to overpay for the Twins to consider it, and go over the luxury tax to boot. That would contradict their desire to hold on to top prospects.
Baz on his way?
maybe
Good guess.
Probably not before September. He’s in Tokyo right now anyway.
