3The Nationals said they are motivated to move Scherzer & some say they will swallow a significant portion of his salary for this year (50%). I believe this trade allows the Red Sox to remain under the Luxury tax. Richards has an expiring deal so he is a salary dump for the Sox. Pawecki (RS back up catcher is good so the Sox may move Vazquez. Thoughts?
Love to have Scherzer but Catching is hard to replace & develop, the Red Sox should be looking to extend Vazquez not trade him
Plawecki has a Catcher's ERA a run worse than Vazquez's. He cannot throw out baserunners stealing second. This would end Boston's chances in 2021.
