2This may be trash, but Yankees need to shed payroll and the Cubs are in a position to soak up some payroll for a return of prospects. 3 million cash is to payoff buyout for Odor after this season. Again, I may be off with the players involved, but I see a fit between these two clubs.
Odor isn't costing them anything. Texas is paying his contract, so he's basically free, save for the league minimum. Sanchez can be (and likely will be) non-tendered, so there's no point in trading him to save money, since they will have already done so that way. That said, Contreras for two prospects makes sense.
