1My thoughts and your comments welcome: Twins get another glove only shortstop with Newman replacing Simmons (Simmons is elite level so a step down with the glove but Newman will be a slightly better 'bad' hitter). They also get a very reliable bullpen arm who could pitch in the later innings - 7th or 8th. They also get financial relief by unloading Sano allowing them to invest elsewhere (starting pitcher?) Pirates get two solid prospect pitchers and take a risk by taking on Sano. Huge assumption is Pirates would actually take on a decent chunk of the Sano contract. Given they are basically paying nothing to field their current team, a fan can dream they would take on some cash. Feel free to reject the trade because the Pirates won't take on money, but try to pretend the Pirates might do it, what does the trade look like then?
