Castillo would give the Mariners two years of club control of a front line starter and probably a first round compensation pick after he becomes a free agent. If the Mariners are really ready to make a move, that's the kind of move they need to make. It's all about timing. The timing isn't right for the Reds which, unfortunately, is why they need to move Castillo. They are both high value players.
