2Rays add a veteran starter with up to two additional years of control and get cash to cover a good chunk of his remaining $28M. Cubs get a young controllable arm with length to complement a young core behind Stroman as well as a solid, versatile catcher prospect to alleviate a future Contreras trade.
Even with the cash thrown in, I can't see the Rays giving up the prospects and paying nearly $10MM/year to add Hendricks. Hendricks isn't a needle mover.
