2This will never happen. I wanted to see if it was possible to put together a reasonable trade package for Soto that didn't include a bad contract swap, and even though the values are relatively close it still manages to look light to me.
Which is comical considering B.Lowe is a 5 fWAR player making about $5MM and on a long term contract, Aroz is a 4 fWAR player making league minimum and Baz is around the #10 prospect in baseball who has looked dominant. All 3 have more years of control than Soto. Meanwhile Soto is a 4-7 fWAR player making $17MM this year and due for big raises each year before he is a free agent. The Rays would never part with a package like this for Soto. They would be spending more money for less production. Translation: Soto is untradeable at a $200MM valuation. Maybe he can be moved at half that value. Maybe….
