7Okay, I updated the Cleveland-Seattle trade. I got some feedback for the previous trade and I'm hoping people think it's better than the last one I made.
I'm as eager as anyone to get Rosario out of Cleveland since he's kinda clogging up the infield, but not really sure I want Winker. Straw is slumping hard, but for the most part the outfield is performing pretty well. SP3, another RP, and C are more pressing concerns to spend trade capital on. I'd rather just see what the guys in AAA can do if another outfielder is needed.
In this trade you would be getting the Mariners number 6 and 13 prospects for the Guardians 7 and 18 prospects. Winker has team control for another year, plus his bat is slowly coming back to life. The Mariners would love to take Amed Rosario out of Cleveland and put him at second because Adam Frazier is slumping.
Honestly prospect rankings mean nothing since Cleveland has a better farm (in my mind) than the Mariners do and BTV kind of agree with that. Now, I do like the prospects you picked at least for the deal. Problem is Cleveland needs a middle of the order bat and Winker hasn't been that. On paper he isnt an upgrade over Kwan nor Gonzalez...
Neither Dollard or Winker thrill.. or come with a label of "must have".. Alberto Rodriguez is as Coach said.. definitely a prospect worth consideration.. Other than his wheels.. Rodriguez has the tools to become a VERY good ML'er.. The other two guys makes this deal a HARD PASS.. -Winker <=== no long term control.. and expensive.. -Dollard is a NOTHING RHP with NO WEAPON.. His # 1 pitch is a nothing FB.. He won't get AA players out with that.. let alone MLB'ers... His potential is as a AAAA SP or middle reliever... If the Mariners want Amed.. (who's SMOKING HOT RIGHT NOW.. just like he was in the last 100 games last season), then they have to address real needs.. Arroyo.. (edwin.. not michael) DeLoach.. Ford.. Haniger.. A deal can be had.. but not for scraps, throw aways and rentals..
Thank you for the feedback. I've been experimenting on potential prospect trades, that could help the Mariners and the Guardians in the future. Seattle should know that Suarez is not the next franchise 3rd basemen, so acquiring a 3rd basemen prospect would really help us since our best third base prospect has been struggling. You made a great trade idea, for a different trade. I was thinking about trading DeLoach, but I didn't think Cleveland would want him. Harry Ford is a very unique catcher with a graded run speed of 60 and his bat has looked much better recently. I would be a little bit hesitant to trade him if I were Seattle. I've heard people don't really like Amed Rosario in Cleveland so when I realized his trade value, I thought he could have been a great player for Seattle. He would have played 2nd base and replaced Adam Frazier who has been struggling. Haniger is great when he's healthy, but he doesn't have much trade value and he is in his 30s.
The best 3B prospect in the Guardians system is SS Gabriel Arias.. Many people believed that he would be moved to the hot corner as his profile fits the spot more completely, however, he has shown over and over that he can flat out play SS and is no slouch as a third baseman. It also elevates his value.. Amed Rosario is a SS.. and not bad.. If a team can handle his once in a great while issues in the field at SS, then they get a ML'er who can hit for both average as well as some power.. He's fast as hell, too.. Putting him any other spot besides SS.. is a mystery to me.. He can't play the OF, that experiment failed.. So.. DeLoach & Ford... both are interesting.. very interesting, indeed..
