3Love the Braves end of this deal. Better for the next two postseason runs (windows close fast). Helps shore up RHRP and OF depth with controllable pieces. 3 season of Ian past the Castillo deal are a bit tough, but pitching is so volatile (as we are seeing right now with Ian).
This proposal is a riff on another trade proposal that caught my eye. There's Anderson, Castillo, and Sims in that one. There's are a couple of other players as well. I'm putting forth this one to specifically include these same guys, with some changes, just to make it spicier. Letting it be known, I'm a Braves fan and I'm also down on Ian Anderson's pitching. I think it's a great time to trade him away before the deadline. I like Luis Castillo. Rather him than the rest of 2022 with Anderson, and I'm going for it now if I'm the Braves. Castillo > Anderson by a lot Take me to the light, Luis Castillo! Take the Braves to repeat as WSC's! I like Lucas Sims. I was really into him when he was a Braves Prospect. He's hurt but I'm mostly banking on next year with him anyways. I'm into Drury. He's also a former Brave. I'm concerned about a contingency plan if Albies isn't coming back and Arcia can't come around here. I'd like to shore that up with Drury. Drury is good enough and the price is right for me. Maybe hedge something on CF too if Drury's hot. I am not rational about Nick Senzel. I like his swing mechanics, 3B is fav and that's when I first discovered him playing at. I generally feel comfortable rooting for the underdog when it's not the Braves, and I think Senzel's an underdog. The Reds screwed him over when they moved him onto the grass. Signing Moose was dumb and Scooter was way overrated. The Braves getting Senzel is ultimately about 2023. I think he could defensively be like Zobrist was for several years. It's easy to find a spot in the lineup for him. Jenista, last one to mention here. I like Jenson Jenista. I don't think there's a spot for him with ATL, especially with Senzel also changing uni's. Are the Reds going to retool? I don't know. I really like their lineup. They just need a decent LF.
The single largest asset in this trade is Anderson. There certainly is some volatility with him and the fulcrum point of this trade is dominated by how a person feels about Ian Anderson's future performances.
