2I know Yankee fans don't like Joey Gallo, right now so it would be a win for them. I don't think the Mariners should contend this year because the chances of them making the playoffs are slim because of how the AL East teams have been playing and sure teams might slip in the upcoming months, but the Mariners have the Astros, Padres, and Blue Jays in July, the Yankees in August and the Braves in September. Those are the toughest teams in the schedule. Maybe taking a step back this year and being aggressive in free agency is the best way to go. The Mariners could be good in 2023, but that depends on what they do during this trade deadline and offseason. It's difficult coming up with good trades for the Mariners because you could sacrifice prospects to get veterans to help the team in 2023 or trade veterans to get younger and possibly more talented prospects that could help the team win in the future.
I 100% agree with you. The schedule only gets harder, if we can trade some major league talent to build our farm system even more, that’s probably for the best.
