4I am not against the idea from Cleveland's standpoint, but Cleveland lacks bullpen arms so trading one doesn't make any sense right now...
Helps one spot and greats a bigger problem at another spot. Where is the gain?
There is no gain for Cleveland in this deal and they won't trade DLS for 0 value because he's worth more than that and he's needed. DLS was a great find by Chernoff and is having a damn good season. He'll be around for awhile, but if they trade him it won't be for a scrub.
The Guardians have a black hole where offense from behind the plate should be. A solid defensive catcher who is is hitting .3i5/.428 is not zero-value. A GM trades from surplus to shore up weakness. Cleveland's greatest strength is arms. It's weakness is scoring runs.
