5I like it as the Yankees; I might push as the As for one of the Yankees better pitching prospects in place of Antonio Gomez. presumably SF is also interested in making a deal, and i'm sure there are other suitors i'm not thinking of right now
A's have three better catching prospects than what you're offering in this. No deal.

langeliers is the only one with gomez level of receiving skills (which isn't to say that gomez doesn't have a waays to go). shea should end up the as starting catcher next year and is i think a potential star. soderstrom will get fast-tracked for his bat it seems (which is probably a good idea). mcbride is able to catch but his bat and versatility [good infielder, good arm] got him to the majors (and its what will keep him there). gomez is going to be a major-league level catcher, but his bat's looking iffy (granted he's only 20). it's a backup c floor lottery ticket, which is what btv values him as (the least valuable spect in the deal)
I was also referring to their 1st round draft pick, 2-time all-american catcher Daniel Susac. Soderstrom will still get reps and time behind the plate because its just too valuable to have him give it up.
ahhh touche thanks; yeah with soderstrom it seems like theyre planning to split the difference (let his bat take him where he can play 1st while getting him reps as long as possible)
