Rays are very clearly in the market for a catch, and they would prefer control over a rental. Bradley is not an untouchable prospect, and you’re silly to not think that a headliner like him would be needed. The other 3 players are able to be called up today and contribute to Oakland

Down vote for Oakland. I like Bradley and Aranda, no problem there. Brujan has really struggled during his big league trial and he's out of options this winter. I don't think he's a Must Have for Murphy and if the A's like him, they can probably get him this winter for pennies on the dollar because Tampa Bay is going to have another 40 man roster crunch. Fleming doesn't have the years of control Oakland has sopped for in every deal and is currently on the IL. Brujan+Fleming represent ~ $17 TV and that opens a lot of possibilities for the A's.

I hear what you’re saying, don’t totally agree though. Vidal has not looked like a the super star people thought he might be, and that’s why he had a 40m value then. So to have a 10m value now is not out of line. He’s actually been solid as a RHH, and trash from the left. His minor league track record says that he can’t possibly be that horrible from the left. It’s not like a prospect has never struggled out of the gate and then figured it out. Fleming is not supposed to be a major piece here. He’s a decent innings eater in the mound of Cole Irving who should benefit for playing in Oaklands stadium.

The problem with the Fleming/Irvin comparison is that the A's acquired Irvin in a small cash deal and here Fleming comes with a $6+ MM price tag. I don't really have a problem with Brujan's value and I agree that young guys can need several hundred big league at bats before it clicks... but I do have a problem with him being out of options next year, forcing the A's to carry him or risk losing him on waivers if they want to send him to the minors. And like I've said elsewhere, I think Brujan gets squeezed out in the winter due to the Rays 40 man crunch and the A's could pick him up for a fringe (non-40 eligible) prospect.
