That’s fair, but I do think Reimer would be a pretty cheap Yandy replacement in a year. Honestly I don’t think Clifford has much value after his hit tool collapsed this year in AAA. Maybe swap him out for Voit if the Rays push back. That starts to get a little too expensive if I’m the Mets trading away 6 years of control of 3 guys who look like realistic major leaguers for one year of Rasmussen who carries some injury risk.
I hadn't considered Reimer for 1B/DH. Interesting possibility there, with Yandy's career winding down and the Rays having only lefty replacements. Ras does carry a lot of injury risk, but he's also in the CYA discussion and has been consistently good/great his entire career. He won't come cheap in trade cost, but for a team like the Mets that can afford to spend cash, they should be able to extend Ras pretty easily at below market rates (again, because of the injury risk).
