2If the Brewers were tanking and giving up on the next two years they may do this. However, I don't think they have that in mind. Mayer is too far away to be relevant, especially if they extend Adames. Turang hit very well in AAA and is next up at SS. Casas may turn out to be something, but if the Brewers have any hope of competing in 2023 they need to get immediate help from more than one guy. This trade would make them much worse.
Hahaha as good as Burnes is this is a massive overpay, was just curious what the reaction would be. I agree though if the Brewers did this it would be to rebuild so they wouldn't be contending this year. They didn't make the playoffs this year, their offense was pretty mediocre and enough of their guys will be getting raises in arbitration that I doubt they are going to bring on a top free agent. The rebuild is coming sometime soon for the Brewers I think.
