Rays have a good problem this year. Their OD outfield was hit hard by injuries to start the year and that resulted in playing time for K.Misner and J.Magnum, who have responded with breakout performances. Both are capable of playing CF at a high level and both are having a ton of success at the plate, with Misner hitting 233 wRC+ and Magnum hitting 134 wRC+ to start the year. 4th outfielder Palacios returned to action last night, Deluca is expected to return in early May, and J.Lowe is expected to return in June. Rays don't have room for everyone though and opt to trade Deluca because he is more of a known commodity and easier to move. Deluca by the way was having a breakout year himself to start the season, hitting 199 wRC+ and generating 0.4 fWAR. That contrasts with the Mets' CF position, which is currently worst in baseball with -0.5 fWAR. With Siri on the shelf for a while (and not playing well before the injury), the Mets should be looking to bring someone in to play CF. Deluca is a solid bet for 1.5-2.5 fWAR, and could be a lot more than that if the bat stays hot (obviously not 199 wRC+ hot). I really like the upside of Santucci and Rodriguez and might be overvaluing them, but if Benge isn't available, then these guys are the next 2 Mets' players I'd want (and who might be available).

I like this deal but I just want to pont out we're only going into game 20 of a 162 game season, lol I am believer in Misner, not at this current level but I see him settling into a Luke Raley type which is very valuable to this roster, I Like DeLuca and curious to see if he can build his value higher this year.

I know. Things could change on a dime with Misner and Mangum, but I’m a believer. Both are playing well in the field as well as at the plate. There’s no rush though. Rays won’t need to trade anyone until both HSK and DeLuca have returned and by then someone else could be on IL. Still, I like both of the Mets players.
