1Fun video game trade to think about as Pirates and Yanks would probably never do this. BUT could arguably actually make sense for both in this alternate reality. -Replace Wells with Ben Rice behind the plate. -Replace Dominguez with a rotation of Pham/Belli/Grisham before you try to sign Tucker next year (or promote Jones if he progresses). -Replace Gil with Skenes to lead rotation with Fried, and Cole in the future. -Get an actual 3B who will play lock down defense behind the improved pitching. For the Pirates this gives them a really nice young core of players that are controlled for 5 years or more and improves the offense immediately. They can wait on Gil to come back and limit his innings as they probably won’t compete this year with Jared Jones out too. Lalane has a ton of potential to be in the rotation in the future as well down the road. Again will never happen but it’s a fun fantasy
