2I think this works for both sides. The Rays get a RP with legit 100+ gas, who needs to work on his control. They also get a recent top 35 pick. They give up a DH/1B/3B that they don't have a spot for. The Brewers get a chance to improve a pretty anemic corner IF/DH, and it costs them a wild reliever and a 1B that is about their 4th best 1B prospect.
Seems like a risky return to me but if the Rays aren’t going to play Mead, they might as well trade him. As for the return, Uribe’s lack of control is pretty bad, but the Rays seem to be getting Boyle to throw strikes so why not Uribe? Burke though…. He’d be like the 8th best 1B with the Rays. Not sure he’s a good fit.
