7So this is my trade proposal for Cleveland. While it seems weird that I'm making a prospect trade for Seattle, Cleveland would get a good bullpen reliver in Penn Murfee and Dylan Moore who can play 7 different positions. Amed Rosario is a player that Cleveland doesn't like but he had good stats and he has a lot of hits. Arias is a struggling prospect, but the M's could have a chance to fix him if they get him in the trade. Chourio and Campbell are Cleveland's 13th and 22nd prospects but I don't have much info for them when it comes to stats. Chourio batted .280 with 37 hits in 40 games in ROK. Another thing to note is he has 3 triples.
Too much to trade for a bullpen piece. I have no interest in in Dylan Moore.
Take out Arias and Moore makes it easier for me. Chourio is the younger brother of Milwaukee's highly touted OF prospect. I might want to wait to see on him. Seattle may not want to part with a good bullpen piece however.
I just don't see the appeal to this trade from the Guardians' side. We made the playoffs last year and this trade wouldn't address any of the holes (catcher, RH power bat, maybe CF) enough to part with a guy who played quite well and was an integral part of the locker room last season and not to mention, Jose's best friend on the team. It's not about numbers, there are other factors involved.
Why do we think Cleveland needs a BP piece? They just finished the season with one of the best BP's in the league. The only guy they are probably losing is the only unreliable arm in the pen. They have Vargas, Herrin, Miko, and Misiaszek in Columbus who are all ready for a promotion. Vargas has actually already been promoted, but didn't see any innings. Arias is not a "struggling" prospect. He was performing incredibly well prior to his hand injury and it isn't realistic to expect any player/prospect to come back and set the world on fire immediately. Cleveland isn't giving up Campbell for any package like this. I see what's being attempted here. lol
What would you do then for this trade. I thought swapping Penn Murfee out with Matt Brash, maybe Micheal Arroyo instead of Dylan Moore? Could work for you?
I don't think Cleveland is moving Arias (I mean he played in the playoffs)... Cleveland wants nothing to do with Moore... Murfee is also a question mark. His BB rate was lower than normal, so can he repeat it in 23, plus he has two pitches with an occasional sinker... Fastball is at 89 as well... I don't think Cleveland would invest Campbell and Chourio for him... Rosario is available, I don't think Campbell or Chourio really is outside of a need and Murfee nor Moore are not needs nor even wants...
