I think they are a little low on Wiggins value and especially low on Cruz, Cubs outfield is packed and with Armstrong in CF and Cassie about ready Alcantara is going to be blocked most likely so 3 good prospects get them 4-5 seasons of a good #3 starter.

Pitching, particularly controllable pitching, is traded at a premium though, not a discount. This package won't get it done for Pepiot.

But I don't really think it's a discount anywhere but on here, I thought about doing Cassie and Brown and that equaled like 32 to Pepoit at 29 but I'd much rather have this package, I'm not sold on Cassie's in game power which is really his only plus tool compared to Alcantara who's more of an all around player that could even fake it some in CF before settling in LF once Morel gets released, I like Brown but when you have as high of value as they are giving him with the injury risks he's had i much rather take the 6'6", 225 lbs horse with 65 FB and 55 slider, literally a TB special (Hopkins, Baumeister, Harrison, Martin, Johnson and even Rock all over 6'4" averaging around the 225 lbs range, some are lighter but you see the pattern), plus with this trade includes Cruz, an 18 yo SS pretty much a 5 tool player that could turn into something special, Shaw will graduate the first month so you're really getting their 5,7, and 8 prospect, all 3 would be in TB's top 15 for TB's #5 or #6 starter for right now, that's a lot of upside plus Curet and Martin start off at AAA with Seymour and Rock so they have the depth to cover the pitching and adding Alcantara to the OF mix could really help this season.

I get the logic of trading Pepiot and I like Alcantara, but I can’t get on board with saying Wiggins and Cruz should be worth 4X what BTV thinks they are worth. Gotta remember that Wiggins has poor control and at age 22 was feasting on low minor bats. He may get exposed in the upper minors as so many others have. Cruz is only 17 and has the potential to be a 5 tool prospect, but I would say he’s a 3 tool prospect today (no bat). He’s at least a year away from playing Stateside and is an incredibly risky (ie: low value) prospect right now. Add it all up and maybe the Cubs aren’t the team to trade Pepiot to.
