1I don't think Preller is trading Cease unless he gets a haul. This may be a fair offer by the numbers but Padres have a solid rotation in place. There's no reason to make a trade now unless he gets blown away by an offer. Maybe that changes at the trade deadline if Padres are underperforming but don't think this is enough to get it done now while Padres are a playoff contender. The reports that Padres desperately needed to shed payroll was BS propagated by SD media, if they needed to shed payroll they would've done it by now.
