Toronto acquired Straw as part of their effort to add IFA pool money to sign Roki Sasaki. Cleveland sent $3.75 MM in cash to help cover the contract and $2 MM in pool space that is not going to Sasaki. The A's will take the same deal from the Blue Jays to help Toronto clear Straw's dead money and boost their own international efforts.
