3it appears Kjerstad is not in O's plans in 2025 (again) They might as well move him now as his trade value should go down as he is sent to AAA, and time ticks. Meanwhile, O'Hearn is FA after this season and O's have replacement, so non tender. Hurts to trade McDermott but Cease should anchor Pitching staff and boost their chances to win AL East and win in Playoffs. Division has improved overall more than Baltimore in my opinion. Every season is precious.
I moved Arraez to DH. But point taken. SD would prefer another arm.
The bones of a good trade are here, but I don't think the Friars go for O'Hearn's inclusion. The salary isn't attractive, but more than that, the Padres need arms, not 1B.
