5Down vote for the A's. I like Abreu but with Butler in RF I don't see the value in trading Miller.
Abreu came up playing all over the outfield. He could take over in left for Brown and occasionally platoon him with Andujar. All of the pieces going back to the A's could still be there when they make the move to Vegas
If you aren't playing Abreu in RF you're not using him optimally. For better or worse (and I lean towards worse) Dave Forst is making a big push in 2025; under-using Abreu and trading Miller runs counter to that goal. I don't think Dobbins is much more than a back-end SP, which the A's have in abundance. Early has the same ceiling. Arias is years away.
Abreu is the centerpiece. If you want to optimize him then move Butler to left, since his value is less tied to his fielding. They are both corner outfielders. Arias is a top 100 prospect and would play the other middle infield spot in Vegas. Dobbins had one of his better seasons last year so he has some upside for this year. Could be a reliever role. Early has a higher ceiling but a lower floor. Dobbins and Early are depth pieces in this trade and less important. The value is there, but if they want to keep Mason Miller for his star power then that's a different conversation.
Why mess with success by moving Butler when he seemed to be settling in so nicely last season? Arias may be a Top 100 prospect but with less than 200 PA in Low-A he's nowhere close to helping the A's, who very much have a 2025 mindset. Dobbins and Early are in the same talent tier as at least a half dozen pitchers already in the organization. The value being offered hurts them in the immediate as Miller offers more impact than Abreu and the rest of the trade package doesn't improve the 2025 roster.
