4Rays gotta clear some $ to sign Bregman to a 3 year deal with 2 opt outs. If that happens, it allows them to keep Carson Williams in AAA til 2026's super 2 deadline, thus buying them an addition year of progress and a half a year of additional Williams service, as opposed to rushing him to the show because Taylor Walls once again is hitting 50% below league average. So this isn't just improving the 2025 and 2026 Rays, it's getting an extra year out of Williams in his prime.
I like the trade. Not sure I can jump on board the Bregman bandwagon though.
