6Another pick involved in a trade…I wonder when these two teams actually discussed Lux for the first time, with India being moved and Kim signing, it feels like it was in the making. 🌷
It was pretty clear the Dodgers wanted to trade Lux after signing Kim, and the industry knew it. This is an underpay by the Reds, probably because LA had no leverage -- they needed to clear their logjam.
I wouldn’t have guessed the Reds would acquire Lux if I was given 20 guesses. This is a pretty surprising trade, both as to who traded for Lux and that they gave up a pick to get him.
I agree that the Dodgers lacked leverage but an interesting side note... LA drafted Sirota out high school (16th, '21) but obviously didn't sign him. Their internal eval is probably higher than his public grade.
Yeah, it appears that way. On the other hand, Sirota didn't even make the BA Top 30, and hasn't played at all since being drafted, so something's not quite right there.
Signing Kim cost them Lux and Cartaya. A Dodgers fan in a 2 year coma must think they signed another Ohtani.
