To be sincere I doubt this would be enough to get Clase... They would want a haul way bigger than this...
Hey, SC. Long time no talk. Not sure what plans, if any, Jed has for getting a closer. How about Alcantara and Horton?
Cubs are pretty well committed to going for it. A smart trade is probably out of the question, especially with Stupid Jed at the helm. I could see including Southisene, since Cubs are stocked in the IF. I would draw the line at Birdsell. Alcantara, Horton and Southisene seems like a haul for Clase.
I bet Cleveland would draw the line with having to get Birdsell as well if that would even be enough... I know they never compromise on price... They don't have to trade him especially now they have the roster to get to the playoffs. If anything I see mid season of going for a big bat to get them over the final hump. There is a good reason why Cleveland hasn't traded Clase, cause the price tag is so stupidly high that no one wants to match it. Also the PR would probably take to big of a hit as well since they traded fan favorites away in Gimenez and Naylor...
I'm guessing those two plus two more prospects is likely the ask... It's honestly going to be so stupidly high, that IF a team takes it, they may not be making a smart move... Alcantara, Horton, Southisene and Birdsell is likely what Cleveland would want... or something like it... Aka Cleveland doesn't want to trade Clase, but IF their price is met they will...
