1I don’t know why Mead can’t get playing time in Tampa Bay but I know (1) he was a top 50 prospect a year ago, (2) he hits LHP well in the Majors already, and (3) he has good bat to ball skills. He deserves an opportunity, and more importantly, I believe the team that gives him an opportunity will be rewarded for doing so. That notwithstanding, this trade is about Yandy Diaz. The Mariners want a good RHB at 1B and there are few better than Diaz. In return, the Rays get a good C and 2B prospect to add to their Farm.
