This gives MLB players with controlled salaries to Houston, allowing them to move on from Bregman. It also gives them an arm that needs a change of scenery. The White Sox get a few prospects for Robert. I'm sure people want more in prospects but if he repeats '24 vs '23 his contract becomes a problem. This is why Robert's value is what it is. And the Cubs get their new RF. They can move Bellinger in a separate deal, and hang onto Suzuki. Suzuki doesn't want to DH full time but he will, plus he can still get in the field to spell Happ or Tucker.

What do the Cubs do after next year when Tucker signs elsewhere as a free agent?

Assuming the Cubs can't, or won't, sign him, you still have Suzuki and you also have Caissie, Alcantara, and Ballesteros to play RF or DH.
