1Pitching is expensive and the Padres have no money to burn. This trade gives the Padres a solid starting pitcher for 2 prospects outside the top 5 of a weak system and a role player with 4 years of control remaining. For the Rays, they get a high floor outfield prospect in Tears, a ridiculous high risk/upside pitcher in Neighbors, and a utility player with some upside in Rosario. This trade assumes the Rays also trade B.Lowe.
