Cleveland is not trading Bieber. They certainly are not trading him with the lead piece being a SS which is not a need for the Guardians.

Of course.. -remove the offending SS/P in Winn.. (that clearly is a unicorn talent) -take away Hjerpe, the LHP, as a guy who's stuff doesn't fit with the Guardians Keeping Tink Hence and Alec Burleson, adding back -Michael McGreevy (5.1): This is what a SP prospect looks like that is coveted by the Guardians.. -Ivan Herrera (21.2): The Guardians catching group was dreadful.. With the emergence of Bo Naylor and this addition, the Guardians would have two solid & young back stop for a solid six years.. -Joshua Baez (6.8): He does everything but hit for average well.. He would be that rare/odd position player lottery ticket.. For the additional value (already 2 1/2 MM high), the Cardinals will have Owen Miller (0.8) and Richie Palacios (2.3) join the deal going to St Lou... This would be a deal the Guardians would prefer making during the 2024 season, however.. there WILL BE significant regression of values across this entire deal.. Thanks for posting..

Thanks for the feedback! I was very close to adding Baez into this deal. Your package does seem more Guardian-like. Not sure if the Guards would really want Herrera though, since I'm pretty confident they'll make a strong push for Murphy this winter.

GSon

Guardians FO and Athletics were alleged to have discussed Murphy.. The A's started with two Daniel Espino, George Valera or Gavin Williams.. This was a no go then.. and it will remain a no go now.. With the emergence of Bo Naylor in MiLB (AAA Columbus).. the "urgency" to acquire a superb talent like Murphy has waned.. In short.. as long as one of the top six or seven guys in the MiLB system are being asked for.. the CleFO won't deal.. Thanks..

Cleveland actually isn't going after Murphy, at least not at a 50 value... Cleveland most likely has Rosario, Plesac, Jones, Allen, Tena, Curry, Palacios, Gaddis available in a deal... it's a 80%+ chance Plesac doesn't start the season in Cleveland I feel like... So they are looking around a 20-30ish value that's either a RH power bat that can play some 1B or a SP to upgrade the starting staff in 23/24 to stop gap until their top 3 pitching prospects are ready...
