5The Guardians are open to moving Lane and Naylor, but they will almost certainly want immediate help in their rotation if they do. Although nice prospects, I don't think two kids from the '24 draft will work as headliners in this type of deal. Take out Kolek, Suwinski and Frazier and add in a proven SP and it starts to become more of a conversation imo.
Also the Pirates absolutely have to get a LH mashing 1B... They aren't gonna allow someone else to get the guy they absolutely need... Plus I wouldn't be surprised if Cleveland wanted Bart...

Fair comment. I wasn't too sure what they might be looking for. Thank you. Tough to find a "proven pitcher" that has 8 mill value though, unless the Guardians would eat some cash from Thomas and Naylor, it could prove to be difficult. I felt their desire to move them was more of a cost analysis and getting younger controllable talent. At least, that is their usual MO.
Cleveland is in a playoff season and they are actually still under the budget set by the owner for a playoff season even after resigning Bieber... They are only going to move Thomas and/or Naylor IF they get an overpay of player(s) that they want in return... Even Cleveland fans have no clue what they are exactly wanting, but we are leaning towards SP with control that is at or near MLB ready plus some for Naylor... Thomas is less likely to be traded especially after how much they spent on him last season and Cleveland losing Fry to an injury...
