Makes little sense for Cleveland at the end of the day... Cleveland also would rather eat Straw's contract than trade him in a Clase deal... They have shown they are willing to eat contracts...

Guess Im not sure why this wouldn't make sense from Clevelands standpoint, save $11 mil and take a big step toward suring up the rotation. Losing Clase hurts but if there's a team equipped to replace him it's Cle.

The biggest issue with this deal is the fact you have Cleveland willing to move Straw for -10 value... They took on 10 million dollars to get Kalil Watson in a trade... They will likely want a massive overpay for Clase and they aren't willing to take a penny less nor add in a contract like Straws... Plus IF Clase is moved then they won't move Stephan either since he was their setup guy before the injury and they extended him as well... Truth be told Cleveland also like never trades extended players until the ends of their contracts as well...

The only reason Segura was in the Watson deal was to cancel out part of the Bell contract... they saved about 9 million in that deal. I understand the hesitancy to trade extended players, but if you can get value for Stephan I'd try to do it.

Stephan is coming off of injury, so his value is down, so trading him now, makes little sense, next off season after he is back and healthy is when they would likely move him IF they even want to move him. When it comes to Clase... Cleveland is gonna want an extremely high price for him and this return wouldn't be enough... My guess is a top 100 position prospect and a top 100 SP prospect, an MLB ready bat with another prospect farther away... I would personally kind of make the deal like Rice, Warren, Hampton and Vilorio (maybe one more here to Cleveland)... Though I could see Cleveland going Dominguez, Hampton, Rice, and Hess... Cleveland is literally going to be like, give us the moon...
