3I don't see why the well-heeled Cubs need to blow out Belli for financial reasons. They still have 30 mil., or so, left before they hit the first salary. cap. He may be overpaid 10-13 mil. for 25, but he brings a lot of offense, leadership and versatility to the team. He has a sweet swing. He looked the same to my eye last season, as the season before. Wrigley was not kind to hitters in 24. I hope the Cubs don't trade him, unless they can get Hader, Bohm, or Castillo in return. However, Jed thinks he's the President of the Tampa Bay Rays. So, here's a pecuniary deal for Jed.
Forgot to mention Cubs return. Hess is a #1 with upside. Good size and assortment of pitches. Durbin has good bat-to-ball skills.
Finally. A deal that makes some sense.
