3Honestly i feel like when it comes to Naylor, Cleveland is better off keeping him... Naylor for Diaz is likely better long term for Cleveland, but they would have to make a second move to replace Naylor's production since I don't think they internally have that in 25...
Problem is Manzo needs to play somewhere and by the 2nd half Fry/Jose will both be needing time at DH. If they can add Diaz to the rotation and save the Naylor money, they can get better even in the short term I believe.
What you I don't think understand is Cleveland has way more room in their budget than people understand... Antonetti even stated last season, he was given the green light to spend more in playoff seasons and last year was a playoff season, but he didnt spend more because no deal came up that made sense. Hes notorious known for never spending or taking a penny less than what he expects in a deal... Next is the fact, Cleveland is much better at producing SPs than 30/100 guys... Manzardo is solid, but definitely unproven. Cleveland, on paper, to go farther in the playoffs they have to add hitting to this roster, not subtract hitting... Diaz is still MLB unproven, and it's not like Cleveland wouldn't want him, but I don't see Cleveland moving Naylor for an SP since Manzardo by himself isn't going to cover for Naylor's production by himself... They don't have enough proving hitting now, how can they afford to trade one of the ones that is?
