1Mariners give Devers a 1B glove and install Mayer at 3B to open the ‘25 season. Red Sox get their top of the rotation SP and get two-way player Grant Knipp (Power with the arm, power with the bat) and sign Soto (15yrs $600m) & Eovaldi (3yrs $75m). And just before Spring training ends the Red Sox announce that they’ve bought out SP Logan Gilbert’s last 2 remaining arbitration years and have signed him to an 8yr $250m guaranteed extension.
