Twins move salary, Red Sox load up for a playoff run, sign Soto (15yrs $600m) and make him their new 1B.
Soto signs for $600m (with a full no trade) $45m per the first 5yrs then an opt out, $40m next 5yrs then an opt out, then $40, $40, $35, $35, $25. Red Sox also give Pablo Lopez a 4yr $100m extension ($25m per) and before spring training ends the Red Sox buyout RP Jhoan Duran remaining 2 arbitration years and sign him to a 6yr extension with a 7th yr team option for a guaranteed $90m ($6m, $12m, $15m, $18m, $18m, $18m, then a team option for $18m or a $3m buyout) potentially making it a 7r $105m deal.
