3Raisel Iglesias had a good year, but there were signs of his decline. His K rate in 2021 was 37%. Then it was 31%, then 29%, and last year, 26 %. Fairbanks gives them an excellent 2nd bullpen arm, and can take over for Iglesias if necessary.
Ritchie is a risky pick up considering he just returned from TJS, but he looked ok in limited outings so maybe it’s not so risky.
I think I'm okay with risk. I'd prefer a boom or bust in this deep system than a guaranteed Yarbrough type. If we were trying to compete next year, I might opt for the 1-2 WAR swingman, but in a rebuild, I'd rather have the higher ceiling.
