4I think the Rays are 50-50 to trade Lowe this offseason. The Giants had the 26th best 2B position in baseball last year, with just 0.4 fWAR overall and an anemic 72 wRC+. Lowe adds 2-3 Wins for the bargain price of $10MM. For the Rays, they add a high floor COF prospect and another good pitcher to a suddenly good Farm bursting with high quality pitching.
Seriously doubt Joe Whitman is available, certainly not for Lowe, and the Giants would also have to send Rayner Arias, lol!!!
We will see. I think a high upside prospect trade package is a lot more likely than the scrap heap major leaguers you like to send the Rays for Lowe. Assuming of course the Rays even want to trade him.
Seems fair, with a couple of caveats: Lowe doesn’t seem to field his position as well as you’d like, though you can’t have everything…BUT/AND you’d think his lefty thump might disappear at Willie Mays Field. Value drops if that’s the case.
