9Down vote for the A's. I'd prefer Chourio to Genao but I could see the argument for the A's choosing Genao. Mobley's draft reports don't quite sound like the scouting reports from A's HS arms... but there are so few examples that I wouldn't cross him off the list. I like Logan Allen but he's a backend SP (that didn't have the greatest year in '24) and the A's have that in abundance. Caceres... the A's just don't reach into the Complex Leagues when they make trades. You can call Genao a Yes and Mobley a strong enough Maybe; you could swap Jonathan Rodriguez for Caceres but I'm not sure who replaces Allen.
I don't see the Guardians even thinking about moving Genao... He's on pace to make his MLB debut in his age 23 season at a premium position... Honestly As would probably like Cantillo more than Allen on paper... Cleveland isn't likely to trade either right now...
The A's might like Cantillo more but I ain't touching him with a 10 foot pole. If Genao is on pace to debut during his age 23 season... that's in 2027. Jose Ramirez will be 34 and Kwan will be Arb-3.
That why they want to keep him... There is a reason why Cleveland is number 4 in wins overall since Antonetti took the reins in Cleveland... The main reason is because he staggers groups of prospects incredibly well... He always has top prospects ready whenever the group before is ready to hit free agency... Genao, Chourio are the guys who, on paper, are set to replace the current group in JRam and Kwan... Why whenever he trades a big name player, he normally does a now guy, a near guy and a farther away prospect in a sense... For better or for worse, that's why they have certain players who aren't available since they are supposed to replace this guy... They haven't even gotten into the middle of the currently planned playoff run, so getting Rooker would be cool, but not at the expense of someone they want to build around come 27/28...
And the cycle of pretend contenders continues………it’s time for a change
They are above almost all the teams in the league during the last decade in wins... They aren't going to be pretenders over the next several years at all...
They have been and will continue to be…time for a change, time to make the goal winning a championship
Are you jealous of an organization that actually does things properly?
I’m disgusted by complacency
