👎 Counter offer - 5 years of Abreu and 6+ years of a PTBNL for 2 years of Crochet. Take it or leave it, but make a quick decision.

Reportedly the White Sox turned down Jasson Dominguez (25.5) and Spencer Jones (33.0) for Crochet. This trade mimics that value while including Abreu, who the White Sox apparently insist be part of this deal. It’s actually pretty realistic.

And you believe that the Yankees offered that? When, this past July deadline?

ReuterRooter

Can’t do that. I’ve got an historically bad team and two realistic trade chips to turn it around. I’ve also got six powerhouse teams in a bidding war for Crochet and his $3M salary. This deal lets you keep your four top prospects and leaves you a horde of cash to sign Teoscar or O’Neill if you don’t land Soto. If anything, it’s too generous on my part.

I can sweeten it with the addition of 3 Pitching Prospects; Wikelman Gonzalez, Bryan Mata & Hunter Dobbins along with Abreu and a PTBNL, Final offer, no substitutions.

Sadly, I’ll have to pass. I’ve got Cashman and Friedman on the other lines.

I’ll be watching for your White Sox & Crochet to the Dodgers & Yankees trade proposals. I think I have the best “real world” proposal for Crochet with my Wikelman Gonzalez, Bryan Mata & Hunter Dobbins along with Abreu and a PTBNL offer. I don’t think another team will top it for 2yrs of Crochet. On this site it would be beaten but not in the real world….time will tell. I think I’ll be prove right but most likely I’m way off base.

I already posted the Dodgers one (it included Luis Robert as well). Just posted the Yankees one. Yes, it’s fun to compare your own predictions to what actually happens. I used to be too conservative so now I err on the side of overpays. But you just never know.
