1The Cubs 3 biggest needs this offseason are an upgrade at C, a top of the rotation SP, and RP. They also have a bit of a roster crunch with Bellinger accepting his player option, a full OF, and good depth pitchers. The Twins are looking to shake up the roster after last season’s historic collapse and are just over their payroll limit heading into the offseason. This trade shaves just over $30m off their payroll and capitalizes on a few player’s peak values.
