5Division trade. I don't think Cleveland 'needs' any of these 5. Brennan seems established as serviceable. Noel has wide range of possibilities. Brito has no path to 2B in Cleveland. Watson and Valera like waiting to see Easter Bunny. Crochet would give Cleveland 2 seasons before FA, at which they would pass him along due to salary. It's worth two seasons for Cleveland's offer. That's my opinion. ChiSox likely aim higher. At his value, not certain Crochet brings back what Sox are dreaming about. UNLESS team is planning contract extension, then Cleveland is out.
Cleveland is notorious for signing contract extensions... They wouldn't make this deal unless Crochet agreed to one...
Cleveland doesn't need any of the guys they are offering. It makes great sense for 2 seasons of Crochet. They will not be trying to sign him but the guys they offer are easily (and already) replaced. ChiSox probably not that interested but would like to see if they are
There is a slight problem with this trade... If they move all those guys... tell me what position players they would have on the 40 man roster? They would be getting rid of 20% of their position players and little upper minor league depth... Plus Brito has legit MLB potential with the bat... Did you even look at his AAA numbers? At 22 years old... 40 2Bs, 21 HRs, 88 BBs to 105 SOs... He can hit and he would be the everyday 2B in Chicago next season...
So what Brito might be 2B for ChiSox next season! Who do you want to offer, Gabriel Arias ? Crochet would be #1,or #2 starter for Cleveland. Is Brito beating out Giminez? Is Brito ahead of Bazzana. I feel bad for you being stuck with no vision. The world (and off season) would not stop if Cleveland traded Brito for Crochet for goodness sake. There are umpteen remaining moves possible if this was a first one.
